وزير الخارجية فؤاد حسين يتلقى اتصالاً هاتفياً من نظيره البرتغالي ويبحثان إعادة فتح السفارة البرتغالية في بغداد

تلقى وزير الخارجية، السيد فؤاد حسين، يوم السبت الموافق 30 آيار 2026، اتصالاً هاتفياً من وزير خارجية الجمهورية البرتغالية، السيد باولو رانجيل.
وفي مستهل الاتصال، قدّم الوزير البرتغالي تهانيه للسيد فؤاد حسين بمناسبة تجديد الثقة به وإعادة تسلّمه مهام وزارة الخارجية، متمنياً له النجاح في أداء مهامه.
وشهد الاتصال بحث سبل تطوير العلاقات الثنائية بين جمهورية العراق والجمهورية البرتغالية، ومناقشة إمكانية إعادة فتح السفارة البرتغالية في بغداد، بما يسهم في تعزيز التعاون المشترك بين البلدين في مختلف المجالات.
كما تناول الجانبان العلاقات بين العراق والاتحاد الأوروبي، وسبل مواصلة تعزيزها وتطويرها، مؤكدين أهمية دعم البرتغال للجهود العراقية في هذا الإطار.
وبحث الوزيران آفاق التعاون والتنسيق في الساحة الدولية، إلى جانب مناقشة التطورات الإقليمية، ولا سيما الأوضاع في المنطقة وتأثير العمليات العسكرية في مضيق هرمز على الأمن والاستقرار الإقليميين والاقتصاد العالمي.
وفي ختام الاتصال، وجّه وزير الخارجية البرتغالي دعوة رسمية إلى السيد فؤاد حسين لزيارة البرتغال خلال الشهر المقبل، بهدف مواصلة المشاورات وتعزيز العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين.
من جانبه، أعرب السيد فؤاد حسين عن شكره وتقديره لنظيره البرتغالي على التهنئة والدعوة الكريمة، مرحباً بها ومؤكداً عزمه على تلبيتها بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة للبلدين.
Foreign Minister H.E. Mr Fuad Hussein receives telephone call from Portuguese counterpart, discusses bilateral relations and reopening of the Portuguese Embassy in Baghdad
Foreign Minister H.E. Mr Fuad Hussein received a telephone call on Saturday, 30 May 2026, from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic, H.E. Mr Paulo Rangel.
At the outset of the call, the Portuguese Foreign Minister extended his congratulations to H.E. Mr Fuad Hussein on the renewed confidence placed in him and his reappointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs, wishing him success in carrying out his responsibilities.
During the call, the two ministers discussed ways to further develop bilateral relations between the Republic of Iraq and the Portuguese Republic, including the possibility of reopening the Portuguese Embassy in Baghdad, thereby enhancing cooperation between the two countries across various fields.
The two sides also reviewed relations between Iraq and the European Union and explored opportunities to further strengthen and expand them, underscoring the importance of Portugal’s support for Iraq’s efforts in this regard.
The ministers further discussed prospects for cooperation and coordination on the international stage, in addition to exchanging views on regional developments, particularly the situation in the region and the impact of military operations in the Strait of Hormuz on regional security and stability, as well as on the global economy.
At the conclusion of the call, the Portuguese Foreign Minister extended an official invitation to H.E. Mr Fuad Hussein to visit Portugal next month in order to continue consultations and further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
For his part, H.E. Mr Fuad Hussein expressed his appreciation to his Portuguese counterpart for the congratulations and the kind invitation, welcoming it and expressing his intention to accept it in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both countries.
