🌏 Strengthening Heritage Resilience in Southeast Asia

SEAMEO SPAFA is proud to share that Dr Rohit Jigyasu, Programme Director, is serving as a resource person for “Bantay Kabilin: Pilot Training Program on Disaster Risk Management for Cultural Heritage”, a three-week training that commenced at The Kabilin Center in Cebu City, Philippines.

The training curriculum is based on the International Training Course organized by Ritsumeikan University as part of their UNESCO Chair Programme and includes lectures, site visits, field exercises and facilitated discussions.

Bringing together heritage professionals, cultural workers, local government representatives, emergency responders and other stakeholders, the programme builds local capacity to safeguard cultural heritage before, during, and after disasters—helping create and promote heritage-sensitive disaster risk management and more resilient communities.

This initiative is implemented by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) and ICOMOS Philippines through the Kabilin Partnership Program, with support from the Japan Foundation Manila
