His Majesty’s Armed Forces proudly acknowledges the participation of the Tonga Royal Navy’s VOEA Ngahau Koula in the 125th Anniversary of the Royal Australian Navy and the conduct of Exercise Kakadu in Australia.

This milestone event brought together regional and international partners in a strong demonstration of maritime cooperation, interoperability, and enduring friendships across the Indo-Pacific.

VOEA Ngahau Koula and her crew proudly represented Tonga, contributing to multinational maritime activities across the exercise and commemorative events.

In addition to formal engagements, personnel also participated in a range of relationship-building activities such as friendly sports competitions, combined interfaith church services, cultural exchanges, and social events, further strengthening camaraderie and mutual understanding among participating nations.

HMAF was represented by the Component Commander of the TRN, Captain (Navy) Sione Lino, accompanied by the Navy's Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM), as the official national representatives.

This participation reflects Kingdom of Tonga’s enduring role in promoting security, cooperation, and unity across the Pacific.

Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo – Pacific Tour 2026

The Royal Corps of Musicians of His Majesty’s Armed Forces proudly participated in the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Pacific Tour 2026, with performances that start in Brisbane, Australia, and concluded in Auckland, New Zealand.

This year’s tour holds special significance as the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo celebrates 75 years of tradition and excellence, bringing together military bands and performance groups from across the world.

For Tonga, this marks the third time our band has been invited to participate in the Tattoo’s Pacific tours, following two previous appearances in Scotland. Each participation strengthens international friendships while proudly showcasing the discipline, heritage, and spirit of His Majesty’s Armed Forces. We were honored to perform before distinguished guests and especially honored to perform before His Royal Highness The Crown Prince of Tonga, who attended the Auckland performance. Our participation in REMT 2026 reflects not only the rich musical heritage of Tonga, but also the enduring bonds of friendship forged through music across nations.

Mālō ‘aupito – thank you to everyone who continues to support the Royal Corps of Musicians and His Majesty’s Armed Forces.
