Join us August 25 at May Dragon to hear Ms. Crowling, Principal Bush Elementary School of George H.W Bush Elementary School. She will talk to us about a new school year, Bush Elementary, four-way test and much more.

Our Club will present to Mrs. Crowling Dry Erase Markers purchased by the AMR Foundation.

George H W Bush Elementary School, the only public school in Addison, TX, is led by Principal Carol Crowling.

Prior to becoming the principal at George H. W. Bush Elementary, Mrs. Crowling was the assistant principal at Bush for one year. Her career with DISD began as a teacher at Billy Earl Dade Middle School where she taught math and Language Arts for 3 years.

Mary Jo's memorial service will be at 11:15 a.m. in Columbarium B at the DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas. The cemetery is 638 acres, so it is suggested that you arrive early, drive past the entrance, proceed to the Public Information Center, and use the automated grave locator kiosk. The locator will print a step-by-step map showing you exactly how to reach the specific columbarium wall.

Her stepdaughter, Cindy, says the service will be informal, and anyone wishing to speak is welcome.

Emi L. Matsush*ta is a movement artist, educator, and creative catalyst working at the intersection of movement, creativity, community, and well-being. With over 29 years of global experience across hip hop, contemporary, and street/club dance cultures, she holds an MFA in Dance Science from Trinity Laban in London — where her research into hip-hop dance battle culture deepened her understanding of how movement shapes identity, belonging, and creative culture.

At the heart of Emi's work is a commitment to whole-person well-being. She weaves together movement, somatic practice, and arts-based health education to help people reconnect — with their bodies, their creativity, and each other. Whether in a university classroom, a community workshop, or a one-on-one coaching session, she creates spaces where healing and artistry coexist.

As Chair of Art Boost, she leads arts entrepreneurship initiatives that build sustainable creative ecosystems. As faculty at the University of North Texas and Dallas College, her courses weave together artistic rigor, wellness principles, and real-world impact. She also coaches artists in building careers that are not only successful, but deeply aligned with their values and health.

June 23 - Nelson Mandela Exhibition African American Museum Dallas

Join us June 23 to hear Margie Reese, Senior Program Office at the African American Museum Dallas talk about their current exhibit Nelson Mandela: the Official Exhibition. This exhibition was specifically selected to highlight the relationship that Mandela had with soccer, using sport as a way to help being his country together in the quest for a more democratic society.

Margie Johnson Reese has dedicated more than four decades to strengthening the role of arts and culture in American civic life. Her work has consistently focused on ensuring that cultural institutions not only preserve history, but actively shape how communities understand themselves and their future.

Throughout her career in municipal leadership with the City of Dallas and the City of Los Angeles, Reese helped guide public investment in the arts, expanding access and building systems that support artists, organizations, and communities. Her leadership has been defined by a clear belief that culture is essential infrastructure—grounded in both public value and long-term responsibility.

Today, as Senior Programs Officer at the African American Museum, Dallas, Reese brings that same perspective to her work at one of the region’s most important cultural institutions. She is leading efforts that connect collections stewardship with public engagement, ensuring that the museum serves as both a guardian of history and a place of active learning and reflection.
