In observance of Labor Day, the City of Ainsworth Office will be closed Monday, September 7th.

🗑 Trash Route Change:
--> Monday's regular route will be collected on Tuesday, September 8th.
--> Residents are asked to have their toters placed along the street curb by 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning to ensure pickup.

North Central RC&D will be hosting a FREE paper shredding event in Ainsworth on Monday, September 28th, from 8:45–9:30 AM.

📍 Location: West parking lot at the City Building

This is a great opportunity for individuals & businesses to safely & securely dispose of financial papers, medical records, & other sensitive documents.

🐾 REPEAT OFFENDER IMPOUNDED 🐾

A male Husky was picked up today by the Animal Control Officer and is currently impounded. The dog has a history of running at large.

The Animal Control Officer attempted to make contact with the owner twice today and left voicemails.

If this is your dog, please contact the City Office at 402-387-2494 to make arrangements before the end of the business day today at 4:30 PM. Otherwise, the dog will have to remain impounded over the weekend until the City Office reopens at 9:00 AM Monday morning.

The Animal Control Officer picked up a brindle, intact male Boxer mix with brown collar on N. Ash Street.
There have been previous complaints regarding this dog trespassing and approaching other residents’ pets.
Due to the lack of ownership information, the dog has been impounded.
If this is your dog, please contact the City of Ainsworth at 402-387-2494 to claim him.

We appreciate everyone who takes pride in their property and helps keep our community looking clean and cared for.

As you’re mowing and trimming your property, please remember that grass clippings and vegetation trimmings cannot be left in the street. ( Article 1, Section 3- 131, & Article 4, Section 3-403.)

Why? When clippings are blown or left in the roadway, they can:
🚧 Clog storm drains and culverts and contribute to flooding or poor drainage
🚗 Create hazardous driving conditions by making pavement slippery
🚶 Create safety concerns for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists
🌿 Contribute to water pollution when grass and organic material wash into stormwater systems

We know maintaining your property takes time and effort, and we truly appreciate those who are doing their part! Just remember to keep those clippings out of the street and help us keep Ainsworth clean and safe.

🐾 A FRIENDLY ANIMAL CONTROL REMINDER 🐾

We know there can sometimes be confusion about where the City of Ainsworth’s Animal Control services apply, so we wanted to respectfully clarify.

📍 Within Ainsworth city limits:
The City’s Animal Control Officer responds to calls involving animals running at large, stray animals, and other animal-related concerns within city limits.

🌾 Outside city limits:
Animals running at large or found outside Ainsworth city limits in rural areas of Brown County are not handled by the City of Ainsworth or the City’s Animal Control Officer. Those situations fall outside the City’s jurisdiction.

We understand that this may be confusing, especially when an animal is found close to town, but the City can only respond to animal control matters within its jurisdiction.

A friendly male Black Labrador Retriever wearing a red collar was found along the Cowboy Trail on the west side of Ainsworth. If you are the owner or have information regarding his ownership, please contact the City of Ainsworth as soon as possible.
