7/20/2026 Our power supplier Tri-State G&T has informed us that the transmission grid in the Southwest Power Pool balancing area is currently operating at energy Emergency Alert Level 2 in our area. Due to the high temperatures in the Western U.S. the electric demand is higher than normal. This condition could result in an overload condition in some areas. To aid in lowering the demand on the electric grid, Southwest Power pool is asking that our members conserve electric usage as much as you can. Ways that you can conserve electricity may include: raising your thermostat temperature to lessen the run time on air conditioning, avoid using your clothes dryer until cooler temperatures are present in the late evening hours and avoid using appliances that increase the cooling load on your homes (oven). At this point, we do not have an anticipated end time for this event. We will continue to monitor grid conditions and keep you informed of concerns related to the power grid that may affect our area. Thank you for your support!
