The 2026 Welcome Santa Holiday Parade will be held on Friday, November 27, 2026. City of Akron Recreation & Parks is looking for parade units to help us light up the night and welcome Santa to Akron. Registration is free and open to community groups, arts and cultural organizations, marching bands, drum lines, and businesses with illuminated floats, vehicles, costumes, and/or outfits. The parade will step off at 6:00 PM in Downtown Akron.

If Akron Public Schools are off, we’re PLAYING! Drop the kids off at Balch Street Fitness Center for an afternoon packed with swimming, gym games, a snack, and tons of high‑energy fun. It’s a great way to get them moving and off their screens! Kids should bring a swimsuit + towel and wear athletic clothes & sneakers (a deep‑water test will be required for access to the deep end of the pool).
