Yesterday, Judge Annalisa S. Williams, Judge Jon Oldham and several staff members had the opportunity to attend the 10th Anniversary Celebration of Summit County Probate Court's New Day Court.

Chief Probation Officer Jeff Sturmi helped present a special proclamation to Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer, who created New Day Court in 2016. The proclamation was signed by all six Akron Municipal Court Judges.

New Day Court was the first of its kind in the state of Ohio and gives its participants living with long-term mental illness the tools to take an active role in their recovery and avoid repeat hospitalizations. Approximately 500 individuals have graduated from New Day Court since its inception in 2016.

Magistrate Tamara Todd, Magistrate Myra Torain Embry and Magistrate Lisa Sacher are attending the Supreme Court of Ohio's Judicial College Annual Planning Meeting.

The purpose of the event is to plan the education that will be offered by the Ohio Association of Magistrates' Spring and Fall conferences in 2027.

If you submitted an application in the past year and were approved, you do not need to reapply.

Please note this application is for appointments in the Barberton Municipal Court and the Stow Municipal Court as well.
