Governor Kathy Hochul announced today that more than 2,500 teens have received Mental Health First Aid training. This is a 71 percent increase since the program started in high schools last summer. She secured $17.5 million in the FY27 State Budget so that all 10th graders in New York State can access this training. Over time, this phased-in plan will make the training available to more than 180,000 students each year. Most high school students will gain basic skills to support their own and others' mental wellbeing.

Men’s Health Month reminds us that strength isn’t about staying silent. 💙

It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to talk about your feelings. It’s okay to cry, to struggle, and to not be okay.

Too often, men face pressure to “tough it out” alone. This month, let’s challenge the stigma around mental health and encourage honest conversations, support, and self-care.

You don’t have to carry it all by yourself. Help is available, and reaching out is a sign of strength.

Mental health affects millions of men each year, yet too many continue to struggle in silence. In 2024, 20% of U.S. men age 18 and older experienced a mental illness. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

This Men’s Mental Health Month, let's challenge stigma, encourage honest conversations, and remind the men in our lives that support is available and recovery is possible.

If you or someone you know is struggling, you don't have to face it alone. Learn more about mental health resources and support at https://www.nami.org/stay-connected/events/awareness-events/mens-health-month/

June is Men's Health Month 💙

Mental health is health. Yet many men face stigma, pressure, and barriers that make it harder to talk about what they're going through or seek support when they need it.

This Men's Health Month, let's encourage open conversations, challenge stigma, and remind the men in our lives that asking for help is a sign of strength—not weakness.

Whether you're struggling yourself or supporting someone else, you don't have to face it alone.
