This Climate Week, we joined Assemblymember Sarahana Shrestha for the Peoples’ Action Utility Strategy Session in NYC. With a room full of advocates from across NY and beyond, we discussed how we’re going to make clean, affordable, renewable energy for all to lower our bills, hold greedy utilities accountable, and combat climate change.

Huge thanks to Assemblymember Shrestha for her continued leadership on this effort, Peoples’ Action for hosting us, PUSH Buffalo, Columbus Stand Up, and everyone else who joined.

For too long, Medicaid restrictions forced people to have teeth pulled that could have been saved, left others without functional dentures, or pushed them into debt to afford needed care.

In 2024, New York expanded Medicaid coverage to include molar root canals, crowns, replacement dentures, and medically necessary dental implants. S.3566/A.1931 would codify these improvements in state law and update the clinical criteria for medically necessary dental care.
