Dear friend of the station, Natalie Merchant (Natalie Merchant) and Roundtable and The Book Show host Joe Donahue (Joe C Donahue) have a message: This is a family.

WAMC doesn’t exist without our community. Whether you’ve been listening for decades, like so many of you have, or you’re new to the station, you are a part of WAMC.

Thank you to everyone who pledged today for Day 2 of our Fall Fund Drive!

Today we had the pleasure of inviting our friends from The Food Pantries of the Capital District (The Food Pantries) to join us. The Food Pantries for the Capital District is a coalition of over 75 member pantries in Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady counties. The Food Pantries secures funding for and purchases, collects, and delivers food to its member pantries so that they can help feed our food-insecure neighbors.

We also had a surprise visit from the incredible Sarah LaDuke (Sarah LaDuke) who stopped by to volunteer!

We're getting closer to our fundraising goal! WAMC cannot exist without the support of our members and community. Visit wamc.org to support.

That’s a wrap on Day 1 of our Fall Fund Drive!

Thank you to everyone who donated today and helped bring us closer to our fundraising goal. Your support makes it possible for WAMC to continue bringing you independent journalism, thoughtful programming, and community connection.

A special thank-you to today’s community partner, Together for Youth NY, whose mission is to empower youth and families to live safely, independently, and productively in their communities.

We’re so grateful to our friends at 9 Miles East and DeFazio’s for donating meals for our amazing volunteers and hardworking staff.

We’ll be back at it at 6 a.m. tomorrow. Thank you for supporting WAMC!

You can help us get closer to our fundraising goal by visiting wamc.org

Electric bikes and scooters are seemingly everywhere. On streets, on sidewalks, in traffic and off road. And while they're seen as affordable, environmentally-friendly travel options, others are concerned they're becoming too dangerous. Go to the link in our bio to listen to the full episode.

Listen to Northeast Notebook podcast episodes, published every weekday by 5 p.m. wherever you listen to podcasts.

It's the first day of WAMC's Fall Fund Drive, and Capital Region Bureau Chief Grant Ashley needs YOUR help! Make it rain in our newsroom instead of on Grant, and bring us closer to reaching our goal. Every contribution helps keep WAMC strong and supports the programming and journalism you count on.

Visit wamc.org to donate.

Introducing Earl Greylock, WAMC's new tea collaboration with Harney & Sons Fine Teas! It's inspired by Mount Greylock, the highest peak in Massachusetts and home to the WAMC tower that carries our signal across our seven-state listening area.

Along with the tea, we're offering a matching mug, tote, and hoodie, all designed by Hudson Valley artist Carla Rozman. Earl Greylock is the first in a series, with a new tea unveiled every Fund Drive.

Start your collection today. Make your pledge and select your gift(s): https://ow.ly/qZgp50ZSckl

Images shown are mockups; final products may vary slightly. Please allow 4–6 weeks for delivery.
