Your Han-Le-Co Volunteer Fire Company has been off to a busy day today, handling several incidents throughout the afternoon and evening.
🔥 At approximately 12:30 PM, crews were dispatched for an inside odor of gas at Verizon Wireless. After investigating, the issue was determined to be coming from a rooftop HVAC unit above Wingstop.
🚨 At approximately 4:24 PM, crews were dispatched to the 500 block of Hayden Circle for a fire alarm. Crews investigated and found no emergency, and Catasauqua Fire was released from the incident. Engine 33 remained on location awaiting UGI at the request of the property owner.
🚗 While Engine 33 was still on Hayden Circle, crews were dispatched for an MVA with rescue in the area of Willowbrook Road and Race Street. Engine 33 cleared the fire alarm and went responding. Crews arrived to find a two-vehicle accident with one vehicle on its side. After assessment, it was determined there was no entrapment, Catasauqua Fire assisted with vehicle stabilization and patient care. Catasauqua was then released from the scene.
🚨 While Engine 33 was still operating at the MVA, another fire alarm was dispatched to the same address on Hayden Circle. Assistant Chief 33 held the assignment to Engine 33, which responded after clearing the accident.
It has certainly been a busy afternoon for our volunteers!
A big thank you to all of our mutual aid companies and agencies that assisted us throughout these incidents. Your continued support and teamwork are greatly appreciated!

This afternoon, Lehigh County dispatched Station 33 to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Route 22 West at Airport Road.
Assistant 33 arrived on location to find a five-vehicle chain-reaction crash. Rescue Engine 33 arrived shortly after, shut down both westbound lanes of travel, and assisted with containing and cleaning up a large fluid spill.
Crews operated on scene for approximately one hour before clearing the incident and returning to service.
Please remember to slow down, stay alert, and move over for emergency personnel working on our roadways.

⚠️ TORNADO WATCH ISSUED FOR LEHIGH COUNTY ⚠️
The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Lehigh County and surrounding areas. Conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds, large hail, heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, and isolated tornadoes this afternoon and evening.
Please take a few moments to prepare: 🌪️ Have multiple ways to receive weather alerts. 🏠 Know where to take shelter—an interior room on the lowest level of a sturdy building is the safest place. 🚗 If severe weather approaches, avoid unnecessary travel. 📱 Stay tuned to trusted weather sources for updates.
🚨 Remember: A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes to develop. If a Tornado Warning is issued for your area, seek shelter immediately.
Han-Le-Co Volunteer Fire Company reminds everyone to stay weather aware and only call 911 for emergencies.

⚠️⛈️🌪️ A Tornado Watch has been issued for portions of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania until 9 PM EDT. Thunderstorms this afternoon and evening will be capable of producing damaging winds, tornadoes, frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall that could lead to flash flooding.

⚠️Public Notice⚠️

Smoke and haze from Canadian wildfires is currently affecting the Lehigh Valley. Fire departments across the area are being dispatched to investigate reports of smoke that are often related to these conditions.
Please call 911 only for an actual emergency, such as visible flames, heavy smoke coming from a specific building or area, or an immediate threat to life or property.
Thank you for helping keep emergency crews available for true emergencies.
