Welcome to the City of Allentown Fire Department (AFD) Engine Company 6 and Truck Company 2 located in the 6th Ward neighborhood and the developing new Waterfront along the Lehigh River. Allentown Engine Co. 6 was founded June 10, 1871 and has remained at the intersection of Ridge and Tilghman ever since. It is the only city fire house still located at the original location. The engine company typ

ically has a compliment consisting of 1 officer, 1 driver and 1 pipeman but will be reduced to an officer and driver due to certain circumstances. Housed with Engine 6, Truck Company 2 covers half of the City of Allentown or roughly 9 square miles and rides with only a driver and a pipeman. The Hibernia Fire Station remains one of the busiest fire houses in Allentown and has a long standing tradition of pride and courage to the neighborhood it serves.
