NOTICE OF SPECIAL CALLED PUBLIC MEETING
In compliance with the provisions of Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, notice is hereby given of a
Special Called Meeting of the Board of Emergency Services Commissioners of Wise County Emergency
Services District No. 4 to be held at Chico City Hall, 400 S. Hovey Street, Chico, Texas at 6:30 p.m.,
Thursday, September 3, 2026.

The Wise County Emergency Services District No. 4 Board of Emergency Services Commissioners will hold its next Regular Board Meeting:

📅 Wednesday, August 19, 2026
🕡 6:30 p.m.
📍 Chico City Hall
400 S. Hovey, Chico, Texas

The Board has a full agenda as we continue building the administrative and operational foundation of Wise County ESD No. 4. Items for consideration include:

• FY 2026 and FY 2027 budget planning
• Review and possible adoption of the District’s proposed Strategic Plan
• Development of financial, administrative, operational, and governance policies
• Insurance coverage for the District
• CPA and financial services
• Potential asset agreements with the Cities of Alvord and Chico
• District-wide records management system
• Proposed Fire Chief/Executive Director position
• Fire and emergency service agreements with partner departments
• Transition toward District-provided fire and emergency services
• Apparatus and capital equipment needs and replacement planning
• Legal counsel services
• District email accounts for fire station command staff
• Local post office boxes for District fire stations
• Scheduling of future Board workshops and/or special meetings
• Regular financial, departmental, records retention, and volunteer recruitment updates

Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend.

There will be a 300-acre prescribed burn in Jack County on Crafton Cundiff Road tomorrow, July 23rd, around 11 a.m. You may see a lot of smoke near Crafton.
