A surprise donation is making a difference for Sweet Home students!
Following up on yesterday’s story, we want to share a little more about Costco's generous donation of 500 backpacks and a $1,000 gift card to the Sweet Home Central School District. When we arrived on scene at the ribbon cutting ceremony, we had no idea that Costco was going to start giving back to our school community right on day one! We certainly enjoyed that surprise.
This thoughtful gift will directly benefit our Sweet Home Family Support Center, a district-funded resource that helps meet the needs of our students and families beyond the classroom. Thank you to our Coordinator Anne Nowak and her team for all the work they do to ensure our students have what they need to thrive.
Specifically, the donations will help provide the following items for our students and families:
➡School Supply Closet that assists students throughout the school year;
➡Clothing Closet: Brand new socks, undergarments, warm clothing items, and clothing needs for students;
➡Hygiene Closet: laundry detergent, soap, deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products;
➡Other basic needs assistance throughout the year (household items, food, etc); and
➡Annual Summer Pop-Up Pantry that provides free school supplies and clothing to students and families.
Donations like this do more than provide supplies - they help ensure that every student at Sweet Home has the resources and support they need to learn, grow, and succeed. We are so grateful for community partners like Costco who help us make a difference across our entire district.
