Jim LeBar, Library Assistant
Born in Anacortes, (to parents born in the old library building, when it was the Hospital), Jim grew up going to the Anacortes Public Library nearly every week.
In the pre-internet times, many a book and magazine were checked out for school assignments & projects, as well as personal curiosity on many subjects. Books featured prominently in fueling his learning and interest in creative pursuits in art, drawing, painting, graphic novels, music, and making stuff in general. In 2007, he applied to be a library assistant and was fortunate to be hired and see what it was like on the other side of the counter.
Throughout the years, his library tasks have grown to include: working at the circulation desk, processing library materials and serving as a passport agent. In his spare time, Jim continues to try different creative endeavors wherever interests lead.
