🌍 A single cleanup can make a world of difference!

This week, members from Watershed Management Services and the Project Management & Engineering department rolled up their sleeves for the annual creek cleanup! πŸ’ͺ✨

Together, we collected litter along Little Campbell Creek, filling trash bags and helping restore the waterways' natural habitat. Every piece of trash collected is a step towards a cleaner and healthier ecosystem! 🌱

πŸš› Vehicle Weight Restrictions πŸš›

Earlier this week seasonal weight restrictions were implemented on all streets maintained by the Municipality of Anchorage to help keep our roads in great shape during spring break-up.

Here's what you need to know:
- Paved Streets: 75% weight limit
- Gravel, RAP, and Chip Sealed Streets: 50% weight limit

These restrictions apply to vehicles over 10,000 Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) and will typically be in effect through May 2026. The exact duration depends on the weather and ground temperatures.

Why do we do this? It’s all about preventing damage to our roads caused by heavy vehicles when the ground is soft.

For more details, check out our website http://www.muni.org/Departments/traffic/Pages/TruckInformation.aspx

Or give the Traffic Department a call at 907-343-8406

🧹 Leaf blowers and any similar equipment are prohibited for sweeping purposes.

🧹 Manual broom sweeping is permitted.

🧹 Adequate measures must be taken to prevent dust from becoming airborne during any operation involving the handling, transport, or storage of particulate matter.

Plow-out Declared! 🚨

Recent snowfalls have accumulated to about 6 inches.

Street maintenance crews will be plowing residential areas, sidewalks, and trails using Plow Plan B.

Certain sectors may be delayed due to trash day.

Please park vehicles off the street if possible. This allows plows to clear your neighborhood faster and more safely. Drive safely around the heavy and light operating equipment if you’re in the area.

Anchorage residents can report areas of concern to street maintenance dispatch by calling 907-343-PLOW.
