Stay Cool. Stay Safe.

An Extreme Heat Advisory is active for today and is expected to continue potentially into the weekend. Heat indices could reach up to 105°F. Please take any necessary precautions if you plan on being outside for any extended period of time.

Additionally, an Air Quality Alert has been declared for the area for today due to incoming wildfire smoke and elevated ground-level ozone, creating hazy skies and unhealthy breathing conditions for sensitive groups.

Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high-humidity events. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

It's a brief reprieve from the heat & humidity today with high temps back around 100 degrees mid to late week. Near record temps are possible Wednesday & Thursday with the heat potentially lingering Friday into the weekend pending a strong front that looks to cross the region. More: weather.gov/lwx/heat.

Last night some members attended the Washington Nationals game vs the Yankees.

Even though the Yankees won 5 to 3. We all had a great time.
