We had so much fun at the bike rodeo on Saturday! We got to quiz the kids on their bike safety knowledge and hand out swag as one of their stops to win a free Kona Ice. We just added a brand new benefit to our Commute Friendly WNC program!! Emergency Ride Home is now one of the suite of benefits available to certified workplaces and campuses around the region.

What does that mean?
It means any employee or any student of participating organizations who chooses multimodal transportation will have a guaranteed ride home if they have an emergency throughout the day.

We're stoked to launch this for all of our Commute Friendly partners! If you want this benefit at your workplace, learn more about this FREE program and apply here:

From Buncombe County Government: "The first-of-its-kind Buncombe County Pedestrian Plan team has been gathering feedback, drafting plans, and now wants to hear from the community about 10 proposed priority projects along Smokey Park Highway, Brevard Road, Long Shoals/Clayton Road, Hendersonville Road, Sweeten Creek Road, US 70, Old US 70, New Leicester Road, Emma Road, and North Louisiana Avenue.

Residents can share what they like, what they’d change, and what matters most. Almost 200 community members already shared their feedback in person at two community events in Candler and Swannanoa. Didn't make it? Share your thoughts on the draft plan online with the launch of the draft plan survey. Feedback will help shape the final Pedestrian Plan by the end of 2026."

A virtual survey is now available to review the 10 draft priority projects until TOMORROW, Sep. 15: https://app.maptionnaire.com/q/buncombe-ped-network
