Our special education teacher and staff are some of the most dedicated, compassionate, and hardworking educators in our district. They go above and beyond every day to ensure that every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. Their patience, advocacy, creativity, and commitment make an incredible difference in the lives of our students and families, and we are incredibly fortunate to have them on our team.

We are feeling inspired and ready! 🍎 Our AISD Exceptional Leaders had the opportunity to dive into 25+ professional development sessions to ensure we are ready to support every student for the 26-27 school year.

We concluded the week with our 4th Annual Exceptional Leaders Retreat. This day was dedicated to collaboration and connection, bringing our staff together to strategize on how we can best support our students, teachers, and families.

A special THANK YOU to AMS for being our host school, Jack & The Bean for helping us start our morning on a wonderful note with delicious drinks and exceptional service, and KEDC for their continued partnership, support, and commitment to providing opportunities that help our staff learn, grow, and better serve our students.

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming our newest educators during our 2026-2027 New Teacher Orientation! We are excited to have these talented teachers join the Ashland Independent Schools family and can't wait to see the positive impact they'll make in our classrooms this year.

Board Policy Reminder
09.123

A student shall have up to five (5) school days upon returning to school to present a valid absence excuse.

A maximum of five (5) parent notes for absences or tardies per school year may be excused by a note from the student's parent/guardian.

A maximum of ten (10) physician's statements for absences or tardies may be excused per school year. More than 10 will require the District Medical Excuse Form to be completed in order to be excused.
