Our team provides guidance on health, mental health, housing, employment, and other practical needs right in the community. These conversations create opportunities to answer questions, connect people with resources, and build relationships over time.

Every conversation is a chance to offer encouragement and help someone take their next step.

The Heat Is On… and We Have a Full House!

It may be hot outside, but the SYMin Event Center is full of activity!

New and familiar faces are gathering, connecting, and sharing what's happening in their lives. We're especially excited to celebrate clients who are starting new jobs and those who are maintaining stable housing.

These milestones may look different for everyone, but each one represents progress worth celebrating. A full house means a lot of people finding connection, encouragement, and reasons to keep moving forward.

Bible Study Can Be a Game!

Who says Bible study can't be fun?

After studying Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, participants turned the lesson into a lively race to classify different terms as “Christian” or “unchristian.”

The competition brought plenty of energy, but also some thoughtful pauses. Jesus' words aren't always easy to categorize, and there were plenty of “not so sure” moments!

Learning, laughing, thinking, and discussing together can make Scripture come alive in new ways.

Christian or Unchristian? What Would Jesus Say?

After studying Matthew 5 and Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, participants put their thinking to work by considering whether different words and behaviors reflect Christian or unchristian values.

The goal wasn't always to find an easy answer. There were plenty of “not so sure” moments!

Thoughtful questions like these give participants an opportunity to slow down, reflect on Jesus' words, and consider how faith shapes everyday choices.

Sometimes the most meaningful learning begins when we're willing to wrestle with a question.

Our Receiving Room Is More Than It Looks

It can look like a mess, but there's a lot happening behind those piles!

Our doorbell has already rung 398 times this year with people bringing donations, and we do our best to accept clothing whenever it's available. Everything that comes through the door has somewhere to go.

That means storing winter clothing in flat bags, keeping backup men's clothing in all sizes ready to restock bins, preparing around 100 pounds of clothing for every Truck Outreach, and sorting large donations when someone generously clears out an entire closet.

Some donations are waiting to be logged. Others are waiting to be sorted. It all moves through surprisingly fast, but for a moment, it can look like organized chaos!

And that's where our volunteers make a huge difference.

⏰ 2-hour shifts

Every hour you give helps us turn generous donations into clothing and resources ready for someone who needs them.

Our SYMin food pantry is freshly stocked, thanks to a generous sponsor!

A well-stocked pantry means more opportunities for young adults experiencing homelessness to choose fresh ingredients, prepare their own meals, and build practical cooking and life skills.
