This Monday, 8/17/26, there will be a crew out in the North Star Greenbelt removing some Ligustrum (glossy privet), Chinese pistache, chinaberry, and possibly some Chinese tallow, all aggressive non-native species. The glossy privet is growing around the tall cottonwood pictured below. This picture was taken looking southeast down the dirt path along the creek, standing close to the bank (on the left) that overlooks the spring. The young native trees we planted are doing well. We want them to replace some of the non-native species.
