AHSTW Community School District is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of our students who earned Industry Recognized Credentials (IRCs) this year through our Business Education program!

An Industry Recognized Credential is a certification that validates a student’s knowledge and skills in a specific career field. These credentials help students build career readiness, strengthen college and workforce opportunities, and demonstrate real-world skills to future employers.

This year:
• 21 AHSTW students earned the Center for Financial Literacy Certification IRC, demonstrating their understanding of important personal finance topics such as budgeting, banking, credit, taxes, insurance, and investing.
Congratulations to McKenna Voss, Brooke Lee, Macey Goshorn, Yana Lander, Tayli Lawler, Sage Blotzer, Jackson Jensen, Sam Sturm, Ashton Hamlin, Addison Carroll, Bella Lamp, Adaline McIntosh, Jason Pruett, Riley Doran, Maya Todd, Jettea LaPointe, Bryanna Wood, Evie Scott, Hannah Christensen, Rosemary Harper and Rayna Myers on obtaining this certification.

• 1 AHSTW student earned the Intuit Certified Bookkeeping Professional IRC, showcasing advanced knowledge and skills in bookkeeping, accounting principles, and financial record management. Congratulations to Bryanna Wood for earning this credential.

These achievements reflect the hard work, dedication, and commitment our students have shown throughout the school year. We are incredibly proud of their success and excited to see how these skills will help prepare them for their futures after AHSTW.

Congratulations to all of our students on these outstanding accomplishments!

🎓☕ The last one is on us! ☕🎓

Today, Viking Brew had the honor of treating the Class of 2026 to a beverage of their choice following graduation practice. It was a small way to celebrate a group of students who have worked hard, created memories, and left their mark on AHSTW.

A huge thank you to Bryanna and Evie for stepping in as our baristas today and serving up “A Sip of Happiness” to the senior class!

To our graduates, as you get ready to walk across the stage and begin your next chapter, remember to chase your goals, embrace new opportunities, and never be afraid to take on new challenges. Your future is full of possibilities, and we cannot wait to see where life takes each of you.

Congratulations, Class of 2026! Once a Viking, always a Viking. 💙💛

This week at AHSTW Community School District Senior Awards Night, AHSTW FBLA members Evie Scott and Bryanna Wood were recognized with the Iowa Business Education Association (IBEA) Outstanding Business Student Award. The award was presented by IBEA member and AHSTW Business Teacher Mr. Sargent.

This recognition honors students who demonstrate excellence in the classroom and beyond through outstanding work habits, teamwork, leadership, dependability, and commitment to quality. Award recipients are selected based on criteria including initiative, cooperation, accuracy, productivity, attendance, punctuality, and consistently going above expectations.

Evie and Bryanna have both made a tremendous impact through their involvement in business education and FBLA at AHSTW. Their dedication, leadership, and positive attitudes have helped strengthen our chapter and school community.

Congratulations to Evie and Bryanna on this well-deserved honor! We are proud of your accomplishments and excited to see all that you achieve in the future.

Today, AHSTW FBLA had the opportunity to host a recruitment event for the current 8th grade students who will be joining us next year as freshmen!

Current FBLA members shared their personal experiences and stories about how FBLA has helped them grow as leaders, build confidence, make connections, compete, travel, and prepare for their future. They also encouraged the incoming freshmen to get involved and become part of the AHSTW FBLA family next year.

We were excited to see a great turnout, with over 20 members of next year’s 9th grade class attending the event! The future looks bright for AHSTW FBLA, and we are looking forward to welcoming these future Vikings into our chapter.

A big thank you to our current FBLA members for stepping up and sharing their stories and leadership today!
