๐งช What Happens When Science Gets REAL? ๐ฅ
Our 8th grade scientists got a firsthand look at WHY lab safety matters! ๐ฉโ๐ฌ๐จโ๐ฌ
Their science teacher created a hands-on demonstration using an egg, bleach, and different types of hair to help students observe how chemicals interact with different materials.
And the results wereโฆ WILD. ๐ณ๐งช
The natural human hair completely dissolved, while the horsehair weave remainedโgiving students a very visible reminder that different materials can react VERY differently when exposed to the same chemical.
The takeaway? ๐
Lab safety isn't just a list of rules. It's part of being a scientist.
When working with chemicals, students need to:
๐ฅฝ Use appropriate protective equipment
๐งค Handle materials carefully
๐งช Follow directions
๐ Listen to their teacher
โ ๏ธ Understand that chemicals can cause unexpected changes
Our Bearcats aren't just reading about chemical reactions in a textbookโthey're observing science in action! ๐พ๐๐
Science is surprising. Science is hands-on. And sometimesโฆ science eats the hair. ๐๐งช
