📣 SES Cheer Tryouts are coming up!

Students interested in cheering for the 2026–2027 Shawswick Elementary basketball season are invited to attend our upcoming clinic and tryouts!

⭐ Cheer Clinic: August 17–18 | 3:30–5:00 PM
⭐ Tryouts: August 20 | 4:00 PM

*Raising the Bar Committee provides various treats (Coffee Bar, Carmel Apple Bar, Nacho Bar, etc.) periodically throughout the year for teachers and staff. You can send items in with your student, and you do not have to donate items every time. Let us know if you would be interested in helping and we can add you to the commitee's group page!!

🚗 Morning Drop-Off and Pickup Reminder/Departure Info – Shawswick Families ☀️

As we kick off the school year, we want to ensure a smooth and safe morning drop-off for everyone. Although we don’t anticipate as much traffic beyond the first few days, the information below can help us make your morning routine more efficient.

🔁 Please follow the designated route shown below — enter and exit through the same access point off of Leatherwood Road.

🚧 The eastern-most entrance to the back lot from Leatherwood Rd is blocked off. That entrance/exit is not to be used for drop-off.

👉 Pull all the way up to the drop-off point and have your student ready to exit the vehicle when you stop. Staff will be on-site to assist with unloading beginning at 7:50am. Students need to be in their classroom for attendance by 8:15am. Any cars joining the line after 8:10am will be sent to the front of the building to sign students in at the main office.

🚨Lastly, please do not pull around to the front of the building to avoid the drop-off traffic until after 8:10am. This has cars entering bus traffic, holding up bus parking, and creating a potentially unsafe situation.

📚 From there, additional staff members inside will make sure students safely get to their classrooms.

🚌 Due to the complexity of the afternoon transportation to the Boys & Girls Club, it is extremely important that parents communicate with both teachers AND the office. Once a student has left Shawswick campus for the club, they will need to be picked up from town.

📚 Classroom Teacher Assignments 📚

Families will be able to view their child’s classroom teacher in PowerSchool beginning Monday, August 3.

We know this is an exciting time as everyone looks forward to the new school year! Our goal is to create balanced classrooms that best meet the needs of all students.

For that reason, teacher assignment change requests can not be granted.

We have some great news to share!

Transportation is now available for students from Shawswick and Dollens Elementary Schools, along with Lincoln Elementary as previously shared, to the Limestone Unit and Thornton Teen Center for our After School program.

Your child must have an active 2026-27 Club Membership and complete program registration for their school to access this transportation. Spots are limited and filling quickly, so we encourage families to complete both registration steps as soon as possible.

Transportation options for Needmore Elementary are still being explored, and we will continue to provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.

🌟🚜 The Shawswick Elementary office staff is officially back and getting everything ready to welcome our amazing students and families for the 2026-2027 school year! 🟣🟡

As we prepare for another incredible year, here are a few important updates/reminders:

🚜 1. Student Registration
All new and returning students must complete their online registration. Finalizing class lists and teacher assignments depends on having every student registered, so if you haven’t completed registration yet, please do so as soon as possible. If you need assistance, don’t hesitate to contact the school office. We’re happy to help!

🌾 2. Teacher Assignments & Back-to-School Information
Teacher assignments will be available in PowerSchool beginning August 3. We’ll also be sharing our Back-to-School Newsletter soon with important dates, procedures, arrival and dismissal information, and answers to many of your back-to-school questions. To receive the newsletter, contact information must be updated in the registration.

🚜 3. Open House
Join us for Open House on Monday, August 3 from 4:00-6:00! We can’t wait to welcome our returning Farmers, meet our newest students and families, and kick off another fantastic school year together.
