Our Bedford Fire Department Local 728 loves giving back to the community we serve. 🫶

Join us on Friday, July 31st at the John Lowery Municipal Pool for our Rock-A-Hula Luau 2026! ⛱️🏝️

This event will be sponsored by the Bedford Fire Department Local 728! Families will be treated to an evening of swimming, music, food, and fun, so come dressed in your favorite Luau attire! ☀️🏖️

Tickets will be $5 and will be sold at the Bedford Parks Department starting on July 9th, with a deadline of Monday, July 27th.

Children must be accompanied by an adult for this event. Normal pool rules apply, lifeguards will be present.

As we celebrate America's 250th birthday, we also take pride in our own history of serving the Bedford community since 1879.

For nearly a century and a half, the members of the Bedford Fire Department have answered the call with courage, commitment, and dedication—protecting our neighbors while honoring the values our nation was built upon.

Today, we celebrate the freedoms we cherish, remember those who came before us, and remain committed to serving Bedford for generations to come.

As the holiday approaches, the Bedford Fire Department would like to remind everyone to celebrate safely this Independence Day! 🇺🇸

Whether you're enjoying fireworks, spending time on the water, or gathering with family and friends, a few simple precautions can help make the holiday safe and enjoyable for everyone.

🎆 Leave fireworks to the professionals whenever possible
💧 Keep water nearby when using fireworks or grilling
☀️ Stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade during extreme heat
🧴 Wear sunscreen and reapply throughout the day
🚤 Always wear a life jacket when boating, kayaking, or participating in water activities
👀 Keep a close eye on children around pools, lakes, and rivers—drowning can happen quickly and quietly
🚫 Never mix alcohol and fireworks or boating
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Supervise children at all times

A little preparation goes a long way toward preventing emergencies and ensuring everyone gets home safely.
