Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected across New Hampshire this afternoon and evening. A Tornado Watch remains in effect across New Hampshire until 7:00 p.m. If you are driving through a storm, you can still stay safe. Take shelter in a hard-topped vehicle with the windows up, avoid metal objects inside the vehicle, and pull over away from the road with your hazard lights on.

6/18/26 - There is an increased risk for strong to severe thunderstorms and localized flash flooding today. Daily chances for scattered showers and a few storms continue Friday into the weekend with breezy conditions on Friday and Saturday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for all of New Hampshire through 7:00 p.m. Stay informed by following local reports. If a warning is issued in your area, take action by going inside and moving to a basement or an interior room with no windows.

6/18/26 - The State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) activated at Enhanced Monitoring at 1 P.M. to closely monitor any potential impacts from hazardous weather today. Enhanced Monitoring means that a few people from our agency are in the SEOC in case communities reach out for assistance.

It might be warm in lower elevations, but the mountains are expecting a storm Friday into Saturday. If you plan to hike, make sure to stay informed and have a way to check changing weather conditions. Be prepared for snow and cold and always share your hiking plans with someone else.
