CITY OF BETHEL
SOCIAL MEDIA USAGE AGREEMENT
INTRODUCTION
In order to create a sound, place for communication, we request that you adhere to the following when using the related social media services offered by the City of Bethel social media operated by third parties on sites such as Facebook (hereafter all referred to as the social media services). AGREEMENT TERMS
The user shall agree to the fol

lowing terms when using the social media services. It should be noted that "when using the social media services" includes posting on an official the City of Bethel account, sharing comments aimed at an official THE CITY OF BETHEL account, and posting direct messages.
1. THE CITY OF BETHEL shall post official announcements and its views via the City of Bethel website, press releases, and other means. Information released by THE CITY OF BETHEL or its employees via the social media service are not necessarily official announcements, or the views of THE CITY OF BETHEL. In addition, content posted by users are not necessarily official announcements, nor reflect the views of The City of Bethel.
2. The City of Bethel cannot guarantee the accuracy of any information provided by the City of Bethel, or its employees, concerning the social media services.
3. The City of Bethel is not liable for any content (comments, photos, videos, audio files, etc.) The City of Bethel is not liable for any trouble or conflict which may occur to a user, or between a user and third party, when using the social media service.
5. If a user registers an account for the social media service, the user is deemed to have granted public access via the City of Bethel to profile information such as the user's name.
6. If the user causes damage to a third party in relation to use of the social media service, the user shall be liable to resolve the dispute with the third party at their own risk and expense. The City of Bethel shall hold no liability.
7. Information posted by the City of Bethel, or its employees, to the social media service, as well as contents posted by users are viewed by the user at their own judgement and at their own responsibility. The City of Bethel shall not be liable for any damage sustained by a user or third party in regards to these, unless it has been caused by the intent or the gross negligence of the City of Bethel.
8. The City of Bethel is under no obligation to post and store contents on the social media service for the user. In addition, the City of Bethel maintains the right to delete or edit the contents of posts, block posts or access to the social media service, or take other steps, at its own discretion.
9. Copyright and other rights relating to posted contents shall be retained by the user. However, the City of Bethel may use any content posted unconditionally and without the consent of, or recompense to, the user. Such content shall be free to be copied, processed, edited, distributed or rewritten by the City of Bethel or a third party, or to be used for other purposes such as planning improvements or other business areas. In such a case the user shall not exercise any copyrights, moral rights, or any other rights for contents posted by the City of Bethel a third party.
10. The City of Bethel may terminate its operation of the social media at any time, without notice.
11. The City of Bethel makes no commitment to reply to individual posts from users. PROHIBITED ITEMS
The user shall not perform any of the following actions when using the social media.
1. Post contents containing falsehoods or factual errors
2. Post contents which are mischievous or linguistically meaningless (such as empty posts, sequences of meaningless characters, repeated posting of similar content)
3. Impersonate the City of Bethel or a third party
4. Infringe on the intellectual property rights, property rights, trade secrets, or privacy of other users, the City of Bethel, or third parties, or act in ways which may affect these interests.
5. Acts which slander or cause fear to other users, the City of Bethel, or third parties
6. Violate the privacy of others by posting their personal information (such as name, email address, home address, telephone number)
7. Post contents pertaining to business activities, political activities, election activities, or religious activities
8. Acts of criminal intent, or which incite criminal acts
9. Acts which are, or could be, contrary to public order and morals
10. Posting or sending harmful computer programs, such as viruses
11. Acts such as borrowing the name and address of a third party and entering their computer
12. Acts which interfere with the operation of the social media service, or cause damage to third parties, including the City of Bethel
13. Post URL links which contain contents which fall, or could fall, under the prohibitions of 1. COMPENSATION FOR DAMAGES
If the City of Bethel sustains damages due to a user violating this usage agreement, it shall be able to claim damages from the user. JURISDICTION
In the event of any dispute arising between the user and the City of Bethel in respect to this usage agreement, the State of Alaska Bethel District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance. CHANGES TO THE USAGE AGREEMENT
The City of Bethel may change the usage agreement without obtaining the consent of the user.

Impounded animals have a 4 day stray hold. If they are not claimed by an owner by the fourth day, animals are then turned over to Bethel Friends of Canines.
City of Bethel Pound Fees are:
*1st Offense* First day is $50, and then $25 each additional day
*2nd Offense* First day is $75 and then $25 each additional day
*3rd and any subsequent Offense* First day is $100 and then $25 each additional day
Offenses reset after a 24 month period.

The City of Bethel is developing a Safety Action Plan to improve transportation safety for everyone who lives in, works in, or visits the community. This plan is funded through the Federal Highway Administration’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program, which supports communities in reducing roadway fatalities and serious injuries.

Community input will allow the plan to reflect local needs and support a safer transportation future for Bethel.
