We had a beautiful day for my Fall Shred Event!
Thanks to everyone who came out to safely dispose of their private documents. It is always wonderful to know that those papers did not end up in a landfill somewhere, but are able to be recycled instead!

It was a pleasure being with some of the wonderful Veterans who attended the Upper Milford 250th Anniversary Parade. It is thanks to these and many other generations of veterans that our country has continued on for 250 years!

Today we recognize Columbus Day, a time to reflect on the spirit of exploration and the journey that helped shape the course of history.

In 1492, Christopher Columbus set sail across the Atlantic with three ships: the Niña, the Pinta, and the Santa María. His voyage opened the door to a new chapter in the development of the world.

This day offers a moment to remember the determination, vision, and courage that defined that journey. Those qualities continue to inspire progress and discovery!

𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲!
Residents of the 131st District are invited to a free document shredding event this Saturday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to noon at Hopewell Park, 4695 W. Hopewell Road, Center Valley.

This event offers a secure way to dispose of documents that contain sensitive personal information, including bank account and Social Security numbers. Each vehicle may bring up to four boxes or bags of materials, approximately the size of a carry-on bag. Vehicles that exceed the limit may be asked to wait before unloading.

This is a drive-thru event, and participants are asked to remain in their vehicles while staff assist with unloading. The event is limited to residents and is not intended for businesses. Items such as phone books, magazines, greeting cards, and junk mail should not be brought and can be recycled at home.

Staples and paper clips may remain in documents; however, materials should be removed from binders and notebooks before arrival.

Tomorrow is Ageism Awareness Day, a time to recognize the value and contributions of older adults in our communities.

Older Pennsylvanians bring decades of experience, knowledge and perspective to their families, workplaces and communities. Their contributions continue throughout every stage of life, and they deserve to be treated with the dignity and respect they have earned.

Let’s take a moment to recognize the many ways older adults enrich our communities and the lives of those around them!

I am so proud to have another Eagle Scout from Troop 108 in East Greenville in the 131st District! Colin Coleman has achieved the highest rank in Scouting and has been declared an Eagle!

His Eagle project was a gift to The Open Link and all who patronize it. By creating more garden boxes for increased gardening space, there will be more fresh vegetables available, as well as a new garden bench for weary gardeners to rest on.

We can all be grateful for the character-building experiences that Scouting promotes. I know that everything Colin has learned through Scouting will serve him well for the rest of his life. “Once an Eagle, always an Eagle!” It will be on his resume forever.

Congratulations to Colin Coleman and to everyone who has helped him on his journey to becoming an Eagle Scout!

It was a special day in Pennsburg when friends and patrons of Pennsburg Power Equipment came out to celebrate the new owners of the business! Jami and George Harmansky have stepped forward as new business owners to make sure this long-running business keeps going and growing for many more years to come!

Thanks to their youthful energy and commitment, Pennsburg Power Equipment will continue being a solid asset to the community and the surrounding area! Congratulations to Jami and George and the wonderful employees at Pennsburg Power Equipment! We are lucky to have them in the 131st District!

Some scenes from my visit to First Friday, Oct. 2, in East Greenville. A great night for residents to gather together while enjoying good things to eat, listening to great musical entertainment, doing some shopping, and having great conversations! Lots of fun for people of all ages!

I am pleased to announce constituents can schedule appointments with a certified PA MEDI counselor at my Bethlehem district office during the upcoming Medicare open enrollment period.

Open enrollment runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7.

Appointments will begin Tuesday, Oct. 20, at my Bethlehem district office, 1425 Mountain Drive North. Appointments are available Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., with additional appointments possible as availability allows.

PA MEDI counselors are certified volunteers through the Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight Program, administered through the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. Counselors provide free, unbiased Medicare information and assistance.

Appointments are available to residents of Lehigh and Northampton counties. Because Medicare plans are county-specific, Montgomery County residents who contact my office will be connected with a PA MEDI counselor in Montgomery County.

Residents should bring all current medical cards, including their Medicare card, as well as a list of medications and current doctors.
