The world is loud right now. For sexual assault survivors, it can feel like there's nowhere to turn without hearing news and opinions about assault. About consent. About survivors.

You may be remembering your own experience. You may be thinking of a loved one. You may be recognizing that people are quick to write off a victim's lived experience in ways that hurt and assign blame where it doesn't belong.

We stand with survivors.

We’re excited to announce that our Chenango County Child Advocacy Center is a proud benefiting partner of the 2026 Matthews Auto Annual Walk-A-Thon! If you're in the Norwich area, check out the event at East Park for a day of fun, or walk solo in your own location to support the incredibly vital work of helping children dealing with victimization in Chenango County! You can also walk at the Vestal Rail Trail event or on your own and choose the Chenango CAC at registration!🚶‍♀️💙

Please see the link below for the upcoming Fall Conference on October 9, 2026 at Whitney Point High School. This annual conference is hosted by the Agency, CPS, and School Liaison’s committee of the Family Violence Prevention Council of Broome County. This year’s conference was planned in collaboration with the Family Violence Prevention Council’s Professional Education Committee and Binghamton University, SUNY, College of Community and Public Affairs, Department of Social Work.

Registration - $25 for attendees who do not want social work contact hours.
Registration - $75 for those who want 4 social work contact hours.
Prices include lunch.

Today is Su***de Awareness Day and CVAC is taking part in BC SAFE’s Chalk the Walk! We LOVE seeing all the messages around Broome that show , and we’re happy to add to them! We also have extra chalk packs available for clients and visitors who want to participate from home - visit www.broomecountyny.gov/mh/bcsafe for more info and to submit your chalk artistry in a contest!!

👟💜💙SAVE THE DATE: CVAC and Binghamton University's B-Healthy initiative are partnering to bring the Survivor Walk to BU's campus on Saturday, 10/24! We're bringing the community to campus to show support for survivors of ANY form of abuse, and to connect in solidarity!!💙💜👟

💜Whether you're a survivor yourself, you love and support a survivor in your life, or you just want to share in the power of community during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we'd love to see you at the Bartle Library Plaza (or Breezeway, in the case of inclement weather!)!!

💙Registration begins at 11 AM, and there will be trauma-informed stretching and grounding exercises before we walk, wheel, and make our way around the loop!

💜Tickets are FREE, and the first 25 registrants will receive a FREE tee-shirt, so sign up quick! We'd appreciate you getting a ticket through the link on our FB event or IG bio in order to make sure we have enough materials, but day-of registrations will also be welcome!
