🏖️ Jackson County Beach Status Update – July 28, 2026
Our latest beach water sampling results are in!
🟢 Open: Lake Wazee, East Arbutus, West Arbutus, Lee Lake, and Spaulding Pond
🔴 Closed: Trow Lake is closed due to elevated bacteria levels. The beach must be resampled and meet water quality standards before it can reopen. We are currently working to coordinate a time for resampling and will provide an update as soon as results are available.
📅 Sample Collection Date: July 27, 2026
📅 Next Routine Sample Date: August 10, 2026
Please note that Trow Lake, Lee Lake, and Spaulding Pond are sampled once per month. Because of this schedule, monthly-sampled beaches may not have updated results as frequently.
Keep in mind that water quality can change quickly due to rainfall, hot temperatures, wildlife activity, and other environmental factors. Recent weather conditions also suggest that algae blooms may begin developing over the next several days.
Remember to always use your best judgment before entering the water. Avoid swimming if the water appears bright green, has floating scum or mats, or has a strong odor. Children and pets should be kept away from areas with suspected algae blooms.
Whether you're swimming, boating, or enjoying the shoreline, have a safe and enjoyable time outdoors! We will continue monitoring local beaches and share updates as new sampling results become available.
