Today we had the honor of presenting the Lee Drake Legacy Award to a teacher who truly represents the heart of what this award stands for — kindness, humility, perseverance, service, and an unwavering belief in others.

Deanna Swafford embodies these qualities each and every day through the love and dedication she pours into her students, colleagues, and our entire school community. She creates a classroom where every child feels valued, capable, and deeply loved, and her impact reaches far beyond academics.

From encouraging struggling students with patience and consistency, to quietly caring for the people around her in thoughtful ways, Ms. Swafford leads with compassion and joy. Like Lee Drake, she remains focused on the work and the people who matter most, showing up every day with positivity, humility, and purpose.

We are so proud to honor Ms. Swafford as this year’s Lee Drake Legacy Award recipient. Her influence on our school community is lasting, meaningful, and deeply appreciated. ❤️🐾

One of today’s incentive highlights was the “Great Bennett Buzz!” ✂️🎉

Our first Staff vs. Student Basketball Game was a huge success, and after an exciting matchup against our 4th and 5th graders, the staff team came away with the victory! Thank you to everyone who participated, cheered, and helped make this event so much fun for our school community. The energy, sportsmanship, and friendly competition made for a memorable day at Cleveland Road Elementary!

Last night we had the honor of celebrating our retirees at the district retirement reception. Congratulations to Ms. Channell, Ms. C. Brock, and Ms. Reid on their well-deserved retirement!

We also want to recognize Ms. Jill and Dr. Mulvanity, who were unable to attend. Thank you all for the countless lives you’ve impacted and the dedication you’ve shown to our students, staff, and school community over the years. Step back in time with our amazing first graders!!📚✨Today they showed off their knowledge of Social Studies by transforming into the important historical figures they learned about this year. They conducted research, created and memorized speeches, and designed costumes. We are so proud of our historians and the hard work they have put in this year! ❤️🐾
