We’re so proud of the work you do Maxi!

During National Agriculture Week, we’re celebrating farm workers who not only grow the food we eat but also nourish our communities with care and dedication.

For Maxi Hernández, planting her first seed in Oregon brought back childhood memories of gardening with her parents in her home country. That love for growing food became the foundation of Mr. Farms, where she now works to feed her community.

“When COVID hit and grocery store shelves were empty, my small garden helped my family survive, and we shared with neighbors,” Maxi said. “I noticed many families didn’t have access to fresh produce. That challenged me to begin something meaningful to help feed the community.”

Through her work with Oregon Food Bank, Maxi has expanded her reach, ensuring families—especially those working minimum-wage jobs—can put fresh vegetables on the table.

Now in her third year of farming, Maxi hopes to grow her farm into a business that employs more people and serves an even larger community. “No human being should go hungry,” she says. “That is the motivation that pushes me to keep fighting and working for that.”

This , we honor Maxi and farm workers everywhere who feed our families and strengthen our communities every day. 🌱🧡
