Officers Recover Firearm and Arrest Suspect Following Foot Pursuit in Dorchester
Keeping Boston Safe: At about 11:32 AM on Sunday, May 31, 2026, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a person with a gun in the area of 655 Morrissey Boulevard in Dorchester.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that the suspect had entered the gas station and began causing a disturbance before threatening the victim and leaving the store. The victim stated there have been ongoing issues with the suspect and the store employees. A description of the suspect was broadcast via BPD Operations as officers searched the area in an effort to locate him.
Officers observed the suspect standing on the sidewalk in front of 401 Morrissey Boulevard. As officers approached the suspect, he immediately began running across traffic as officers gave chase. As officers pursued the suspect on foot, they observed the suspect stop at the shoreline and throw an L-shaped object into the water. Officers caught up to the suspect, who engaged them in a brief struggle before fleeing into traffic where he was eventually subdued and taken into custody.
Officers recovered a firearm in the water where the suspect was standing. The firearm was determined to be a R***r .380 ACP loaded with six rounds of live ammunition.
Officers arrested Reginald Bernard Clagon, 46-years-old, of Dorchester. Clagon is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester Court on charges of Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Carrying a Firearm without a License, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon, Firearm Violation with prior Violent/ Drug Crime, Resisting Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct.
