It's Water Weekend at Lake Metigoshe State Park and we've got something for everyone - crafts, games, paddling, science, and more!
Join us for the follow programs, which are free and open to the public with paid state park entrance.This is our last weekend of regular programming for the 2026 summer season - thanks for a great summer of outdoor education and recreation!
Friday, September 4
8pm - Water Olympics
Investigate water cohesion, adhesion, and surface tension and compete in the water olympics at the main office.
Saturday, September 5
10am - Ocean Life - Escape the lake and head to the ocean, diving deep into the blue sea by meeting at the Main Office. There will both both science and crafts - all ages and skills welcome!
1pm - Water Games - Meet at the beach to play some games and do some water science. There will also be prizes, which includes some Lulabelle’s Ice Cream.
9pm - 6th Annual Glow Parade - Wear bright colors and glow with us as we parade around the modern campground loops. Feel free to bike, walk and bring strollers. Meet near the lil' library by the campground host site (campsite #38).
Sunday, September 6
10am - What’s in the Shell? - Get the scoop by meeting at the amphitheater.
7pm - Kayaking Adventures - Meet at the School Section Lake kayak launch to learn the basics and then paddle the shoreline. Equipment is provided. Participants need to be at least 8 years old - participants under 18 years of age need to attend with parent/guardian.
