Stop in at main office to check out the park merch that has recently come in as well as what's moved over to the sale rack! We've got youth and adult apparel & ball caps, stickers, woodland critters and birds (some with calls), magnets, hiking sticks, and more!

Our office is open 9a-5p through Labor Day.

It’s the last weekend of the 2026 season for the Lulabelle’s Ice Cream truck route - look and listen for it in the modern campgrounds and along the shoreline on Friday at 7pm and on Saturday & Sunday at 1pm (weather permitting).

Update - Campsite #58 has been booked - thanks!

There's been a cancellation - modern campsite #58 in Washegum is currently available for Labor Day Weekend.

There's also several modern and primitive options open for Friday or Sunday night only as well as couple primitive campsites in North Star and North Hill (tent only) for the duration of the weekend.

It's Water Weekend at Lake Metigoshe State Park and we've got something for everyone - crafts, games, paddling, science, and more!

Join us for the follow programs, which are free and open to the public with paid state park entrance.This is our last weekend of regular programming for the 2026 summer season - thanks for a great summer of outdoor education and recreation!

Friday, September 4
8pm - Water Olympics
Investigate water cohesion, adhesion, and surface tension and compete in the water olympics at the main office.

Saturday, September 5
10am - Ocean Life - Escape the lake and head to the ocean, diving deep into the blue sea by meeting at the Main Office. There will both both science and crafts - all ages and skills welcome!
1pm - Water Games - Meet at the beach to play some games and do some water science. There will also be prizes, which includes some Lulabelle’s Ice Cream.
9pm - 6th Annual Glow Parade - Wear bright colors and glow with us as we parade around the modern campground loops. Feel free to bike, walk and bring strollers. Meet near the lil' library by the campground host site (campsite #38).

Sunday, September 6
10am - What’s in the Shell? - Get the scoop by meeting at the amphitheater.
7pm - Kayaking Adventures - Meet at the School Section Lake kayak launch to learn the basics and then paddle the shoreline. Equipment is provided. Participants need to be at least 8 years old - participants under 18 years of age need to attend with parent/guardian.

Registration is open for the LMSP Wild Outdoor Women (WOW) Fall Event, taking place September 18–20. Registration is closing September 6 so if you haven't already done so, it's time to register.

If you are a woman age 16 or older and want to learn new outdoor skills, improve skills you already have, try different equipment, or meet other outdoor enthusiasts, this event is for you.

Although many activities have sold out, there are still openings in a variety of activities, including Compass Basics & Orienteering, Intermediate Archery, Introduction to Kayaking, Fly Fishing w/ Float Tubes, Wild Fiber Papermaking, and more!

Make the most of your Labor Day weekend - we currently have modern campsites available for Friday or Sunday night only and primitive campsites available throughout the long weekend.

After Labor Day, water will remain available in modern campsites, dump station will remain operational, and at least one comfort station will remain open through October 15, weather permitting. Canoes, kayaks, paddleboards and pontoons will be available for rent through September 15. Fishing docks will remain in the water until weather dictates their removal for the season.

Plan your final camping getaways of the season and enjoy the outdoors with us.

The lake is calling and the captain's chair is open - we have pontoon rentals available today, tomorrow, through the week, and limited availability for Labor Day weekend.

Make the most of what’s left of summer by taking a cruise along the shoreline. Along the way, consider a stop for lunch or supper, perhaps top it off with some ice cream, or enjoy an iced coffee or kombucha while supporting the local businesses around the Lake Metigoshe shoreline. Yes, they have pontoon parking for their customers - how cool is that!?

Sunday–Thursday: $400
Friday & Saturday: $450

Experience The Park At Dark - Weekend Programs at Lake Metigoshe this weekend by joining us for the following programs, which are free and open to the public with paid state park entrance.

Frday, August 28
8:30pm - Owl Prowl: Meet at the Amphitheater to meet local owls and then hit the trail to take part in an owl prowl.

Saturday, August 29
10am - Northern Lights: Discover the magic and beauty behind the northern lights and create a painting masterpiece inpired by them. Join us at the Main Office.
2pm - Bike Hike: We'll start with bike safety and simple adjustments before setting out for a leisurely ride. Participants should be prepared to ride up to 3 miles. Bring bikes and helmets; the park has some bikes available in teen and adult sizes as well as extra helmets available for those in need. Join us at the Main Office.
8:30pm - Night Cache: Meet at the Warming House to learn the basics of geocaching and try out your skills by looking for a newly hidden night cache!
