Everyone loves a good mystery, right?

Help us solve…The Mystery of the Little Old Lady!

This painting has hung in various spots at the Bourbon Public Library for at least 50 years. The artwork was painted by award-winning artist Joel Reichard, who was born in Bourbon Township in 1909. He studied at the Herron Art Institute and the Art Institute of Chicago, and went on to have collections of his work hang in art galleries at the University of Florida, DePauw University, and Indiana University.

The painting is simply titled “Little Old Lady.”

But who is the little old lady?

We were asked that question today, and as you know, librarians will not sleep until all answers are found. So please help us solve the Mystery of the Little Old Lady, because we do not want to miss out on naptime.
