READ: The facility is clean. Detainees have access to medical care, mental health services, and communications with friends, family, and legal counsel. There is air conditioning, nutritious food, and clean water. If there were actions taking place here that degraded a person's humanity, we would not be part of it.

🎨 "At the moment of creating a piece of art, the only thing that matters to me is to express who and what I am." Participants in the {Ink}arcerated program at CoreCivic's Red Rock facility in are showcasing their artwork ahead of the annual show at a local gallery in May. The {Ink}arcerated program was developed by a team of Arizona State University Center for Correctional Solutions students in 2017. Light impacts humans' circadian rhythm, a natural function that acts as the body's internal clock. It regulates important bodily functions, including sleep-wake cycles, hormone release, metabolism, and body temperature. At CoreCivic's Red Rock facility in , the Project Vista team installed new, state-of-the-art circadian lighting in a normalized classroom. While the classroom lacks windows to the outside, these light fixtures look and act like windows by mimicking natural daylight automatically by adjusting color temperature and intensity throughout the day to support a natural rhythm.
