There have been a few encounters with coyotes in the area that seem very comfortable around humans, so we wanted to take this opportunity to share some pertinent information and reminders 🌟

📣 If a coyote approaches you and gets too close for comfort, “hazing” is best course of action. Hold your ground, look large, and make loud noises. Don’t turn away or run!

🐕‍🦺 Don’t forget to bring pet food bowls in at night, change their water at least once daily, and keep pets close by when out and about.

🚓 If you see or suspect that a coyote in your neighborhood is being fed, contact the Police Dispatch line immediately at 415-467-1212 so that an officer can respond. The act must be physically observed by an officer for anything to be done.

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦!

👋 Hi, Brisbane! We’re excited to introduce ourselves. We’re Bella and Caroline and together – with Noah jumping in on special projects that call for extra creative flair – we make up the City’s Communications Team. 💛

Bella joined us in late June and has already been busy helping with the STAR, the Blast, signboards, the website, and of course… all things social media!✨

We recently had the chance to join Senior Planner Ken Johnson on a hike up to Callippe Hill, where we learned even more about the beautiful open spaces that surround our community. 🌿🏞️

Quick-builds with the goal of improving crosswalk visibility were taking place around BES today, just in time for the first day of school tomorrow!

As part of the 2026 School Travel Fellowship (STF) Program, the City of Brisbane partnered with Brisbane Elementary School (BES) and Alta Planning + Design to identify and implement traffic improvements that encourage students to safely walk, bike, and roll to school. Through community engagement, Complete Streets Safety Committee input, BES walk audits, and technical evaluations, the City identified key safety concerns, including speeding and traffic conflicts during school drop-off and pick-up.

The STF supported the development and implementation of quick-build demonstration projects at the following locations: San Bruno Ave./Alvarado St., San Bruno Ave./Glen Park Way, and Glen Parkway/San Benito Road. The improvements were installed earlier today and include in-street pedestrian crossing signs, curb extensions using delineators, and striping additions. The improvements are intended to be temporary; the City and BES staff will evaluate the effectiveness of the installations and determine whether they should become permanent.

Participation in the School Travel Fellowship program will allow the City and BES to explore funding opportunities for permanent infrastructure in the future.

‼️ Residential Self-Audit Kits are Available at City Hall!

🏡 What is a Residential Self-Audit Kit?

💧To conserve water inside your home, the first step is understanding how much water you use and where to look for potential leaks. The Residential Self-Audit Kit includes a step-by-step guide to teach you how to check for: Sink/Shower flow rates, meter leak test, toilet leak test, and general indoor leak information.

‼️ There are currently less than 100 sets left, so don’t wait! If you’re interested in picking up a kit, you can do so from Matthew Lee at the Public Works Counter in City Hall. You can also reach out to him at [email protected] with any questions.
