We all know how damaging social media can be to children’s development, now New York is stepping up to keep our children safe from the harmful effects of doomscrolling.

Great to join Governor Kathy Hochul and New York AG Letitia James at the Brooklyn STEAM Center to announce nation-leading regulations to limit children’s access to addictive social media feeds.

The SAFE for Kids Act reins in unfettered access to algorithms engineered to keep users online and creates new mechanisms for the State to finally hold exploitative companies accountable.

Was honored to join the family of Ol’ Dirty Bastard to celebrate his life ahead of his street co-naming outside his childhood home.

Wu-Tang may have put Staten Island on the map, but even the greatest group from the streets of Shaolin couldn’t have made an impact without the great ODB from Brooklyn. Now, his legacy will forever be immortalized on ODB way on the corner of Putnam and Franklin. Much gratitude to Council Member Chi Ossé for working with the Jones family to make this happen.

Wu-Tang and ODB forever 🫶🏾

It was an honor to attend the unveiling of the new Dr. Patricia O’Neill Trauma Bay at Brookdale Hospital. Dr. O’Neill received all of her medical training in Brooklyn, and as director of trauma and surgical ICU at Brookdale Hospital, she went above and beyond for her patients and her staff.

Though her life was cut tragically short, her memory will live on in this dedication to her tremendous service.

Borough Hall station is now fully accessible!

Borough Hall is a hub for civic life here in Brooklyn, and with this station now fully accessible, riders can more easily access the many services and programs that my team and the surrounding agencies have to offer.

This project also included major lighting, communications, fire alarm, plumbing, drainage and interior upgrades. Big thank you !

Proud to stand with public defenders BDS Union on the picket line yesterday, and even prouder to celebrate last night’s contract victory.

Thank you for all you do for this borough, and for reminding us that when workers stand together, they win. Congratulations!
