Since the first settlers arrived in 1763, the town has experienced Revolutionary War naval battles, stagecoach visits from five presidents, and even a legendary witch's curse that continues to this day. A major feature of the town is the downtown waterfront area, which draws folks from miles around to enjoy both its recreational and business offerings.

The Bucksport Garden Club has been a tremendous help to our Bucksport Waterfront this year helping w**d out flower beds. They are looking for more volunteers. If you would like to help you can meet them at the Gazebo by the Town Dock on Tuesday, August 11th at 9:30 a.m. Any questions please reach out to them directly through their page.

FYI - Main Street paving scheduled for today has been postponed due to rain. Northeast Paving plans to complete paving tomorrow, Aug. 4, weather permitting. Expect alternating one-way traffic and no parking on one side of the street during paving.

The Town of Bucksport hereby gives notice that nomination papers are now available from the Town Clerk's Office for the upcoming municipal election.

The following positions are available:

Two (2) three-year Town Council seats
Two (2) three-year School Board seats
Completed nomination papers must be returned to the Town Clerk's Office no later than 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026.

Candidates must obtain no fewer than 25 and no more than 100 signatures from registered voters of the Town of Bucksport.

If you have any questions or are interested in running for office, please contact the Town Clerk's Office during normal business hours.
