Home Again L.A. is a non-profit providing temporary assistance, hospitality and case management for families with children experiencing homelessness.

Home Again L.A., formerly Family Promise of the Verdugos, formed in March 2008 and opened our doors to families in July 2010. We are one of over 200 chapters across the country affiliated with Family Promise, a non-profit committed to helping low-income families nationwide to achieve lasting independence. Family Promise helps mobilize communities to provide safe shelter, meals, and support service

✨ A New Beginning for One Local Family ✨ - After experiencing an incredibly difficult and overwhelming season, Ms. Presiado and her 11-year-old daughter are finally settling into a place they can proudly call home.

Despite facing uncertainty and immense stress, Ms. Presiado never stopped pushing forward for her daughter, showing incredible strength and resilience every step of the way.

When the family connected with HALA, we were honored to walk alongside them by providing housing assistance, navigation, and ongoing support to help them through the process. One of the most meaningful moments was watching Ms. Presiado receive the keys to their new apartment — a symbol of hope, stability, and a fresh start. 🔑🏡

Today, this mother and daughter are safe, stable, and beginning a new chapter together in a home of their own.

When this family first came to Home Again LA, they were walking through one of the most difficult seasons of their lives. With three young children , including twin boys and a four-year-old, mom and dad were doing everything they could to hold their family together. As dad worked hard as the sole provider and mom cared for the children full-time, financial hardship led them to couch surf and, at times, even sleep in their car.

After connecting with Home Again LA, this family received housing navigation, housing assistance, and ongoing support to help them move toward stability. Through every challenge, they remained hopeful and committed to building a brighter future for their children.

Today, we are overjoyed to share that this beautiful family is safely settled into a place they can call home. 🏡 Their children now have a stable environment where they can grow, thrive, and simply be kids.

Today, we pause to honor the life and legacy of Glenn Bales, a dedicated community leader and valued supporter of our mission.

Glenn faithfully served as Board Treasurer of BTAC and played an important role in the thoughtful conversations surrounding the merger of BTAC and Home Again LA. His wisdom, professionalism, and commitment to serving others helped strengthen the foundation of the organization during a significant period of transition.

Glenn also served for many years as CFO of Providence St. Joseph Hospital, where his leadership made a lasting impact on our community.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Glenn’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. We are deeply grateful for his many contributions to BTAC and the care he showed toward helping others. His legacy of service will not be forgotten.

We’re reaching out to our amazing community for support in stocking our pantry shelves with essential hygiene supplies.

Many of the individuals and families we serve come to us in urgent need—not just for food, but for basic hygiene items that are often out of reach. These supplies make a real difference in restoring dignity, health, and hope.

If you or your organization are able to help, we would greatly appreciate donations of hygiene products. Please see the attached graphic for the full list of needed items.

Donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday, between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Thank you for continuing to show up for our community in such meaningful ways. Every contribution helps us serve with care and compassion.

- Our client, a single mother raising her 12-year-old son, found herself in a very stressful situation after losing stable income from a temporary daycare position in North Hollywood. After falling behind on rent, the family had to leave the apartment unit, leaving her overwhelmed and unsure of where her family would go next. While searching for help, she was connected with HALA through 211 and was quickly linked to support and housing assistance. With case management and housing navigation, she secured a new home for herself and her son.

After experiencing homelessness when they were unexpectedly asked to move out of their previous housing, Josh and his family turned to Home Again LA for shelter, support, and hope during an incredibly difficult time.

Our team worked closely with the family by providing case management services, warm meals, and a safe place to rest each night while they searched for stable housing. Through perseverance, partnership, and support, their story has reached an exciting new milestone.

✨ Today, Josh and his family received the keys to their new home! ✨
