West Buxton Public Library is a cozy little library located in a former one-room school house.

Tuesdays 4-8pm
Thursdays 4-8pm
Sundays 12-4pm

Serving as a trustee means advocating for library funding & programs, connecting with the community, and supporting staff & patrons; overseeing library policies & ensuring the library operates in the best interests of the community & its patrons; managing library resources, including budgeting, allocating funs, and supporting programs that benefit the public; advocating for the library by promoting its services, building community partnerships, and representing the library's mission to residents & stakeholders.

Head's up folks! You can use your WBPL card to get into Maine State Parks for free this Saturday! There is a list of excluded parks at the end.

If you don't have a library card, come on by tonight from 4-8p or Thursday 4-8p so you're ready for this weekend!

On Saturday, September 19th, you can celebrate by using your library card to access many of Maine's state parks free of charge! Simply show your Maine library card at the entrance to any participating Maine state park and enjoy a day of hiking, picnicking or reading in Maine's beautiful state parks.

If you don't have a library card, stop by your local library to get your library card, and open the door to books, audiobooks and DVDs, programs and events, digital resources and more. Our features shelf got an update last week due to some amazing volunteers!

Maybe we're a bit early for the fall theme but the first day of fall is just over 3 weeks away and we're reading for cooler weather & cozying up with a good book (or five) 🍁🍂📚☕️

Hey Buxton - don't forget, we have Maine Wildlife Park passes!

School is almost back in session so this could be a GREAT end of summer day trip with the kiddos!

Library patrons can come in when we're open to grab passes to get reduced entry into Maine Wildlife Park! Each pass is for ONE person and reduces the entry fee to 5$ per person. The pass you pick up from the library must not be photocopied - they'll only accept originals.

These passes are good for the entire 2026 season for Maine Wildlife Park - which ends in November.

We’re getting ready for tonight’s author event!

Join us tonight, August 11, from 6:30–7:30 p.m. for an evening with local authors Anne Cyr and Susan Dudley Gold.

Anne will share poetry from her debut collection, The Wondermaker, and Susan will read from her picture book, The Grandma Star.
