💛📚 Thank You, Hollis 📚💛

Despite the rain, our Book, Bake & Craft Sale was filled with warmth, connection, and incredible community spirit. We’re so grateful for the turnout, the generosity, and the shared love for our library — it truly made the day a success.

A special thank you to our amazing volunteers:

✨ Ava and Jillian, seniors at Bonny Eagle High School, who have helped for years and once again took the lead organizing the children’s books — we’ll miss you and wish you all the best as you head off to college!
✨ Paula, Dawn, Jayden, and Alex for hauling and sorting books
✨ Diane and Steve from Hollis Center Church, Jess (BEHS teacher), and Carol Niles for their time and support

🍪 Our bake table was overflowing — from pies and rice crispies to fudge, cookies, and banana bread. Thank you to all of our bakers for sharing your time, talent, and ingredients so generously.

🛍️ To our vendors — thank you for showing up (rain and all!), bringing your beautiful work, and helping spread the word about the event. Your commitment means so much.

📖 And to our patrons — thank you for coming out, supporting the library, and sharing your stories, memories, and joy. Those moments are what this place is all about.

This event helps sustain the programs, resources, and community space that make the Hollis Center Public Library so special — and it only happens because of all of you.

We’re so grateful. 💙

📚✨ National Library Week | April 19–25, 2026 ✨📚
💙 Celebrating Maine Library Month 💙

This week, we’re celebrating the power of libraries — and the incredible community that makes the Hollis Center Public Library what it is.

Serving the greater Hollis area (home to over 4,600 residents), our library is more than just books — it’s a place for learning, connection, creativity, and community. From story times and book clubs to workshops and shared resources, we’re proud to be a space that brings people together.

To our patrons, volunteers, and donors: thank you. Your support makes everything we do possible. 💛

As a nonprofit library, we rely on the generosity of our community to continue offering programs, maintaining our historic space, and expanding access for all. If you’ve been thinking about getting involved, we are always happy to welcome:
✨ Donations of any size
✨ Volunteers with time or skills to share

Together, we keep our library strong, welcoming, and growing.

Here’s to libraries — and to all of you who make them thrive. 📖🌿

📚✨ Book Signing & Reading with Local Author S.C. Grimes ✨📚

Join us on Wednesday, May 6 from 5:00–7:00 PM at the Hollis Center Public Library for an evening with local author S.C. Grimes!

Come meet the author, purchase a copy of The Frye Journals, and stay for a live reading at 6:00 PM. Books will be available for signing, and the author accepts cash, check, and Venmo. Light refreshments will be served.

🖋️ About the Book:
The Frye Journals is a psychological thriller following Frederick Frye, a nobleman cursed to never see his own face; not in mirrors, portraits, or any form. As he searches for a cure, the world around him begins to unravel, with restless spirits, intensifying nightmares, and a cast of peculiar characters who may help… or hinder his quest. One question lingers above all: what happens if he is forgotten entirely?

Whether you’re a thriller fan or just love supporting local authors, this is an event you won’t want to miss.

🌱✨ Celebrate Earth Day with a Community Plant Swap! ✨🌱

In honor of Earth Day (April 22), the Hollis Center Public Library is hosting a Plant Swap — and you’re invited to grow something new 🌿

Here’s how it works:
🌼 Bring in a plant clipping or seed starter anytime starting now
🌿 Then, during April 18–25, come back and take a new plant home

It’s a simple way to share what you have, discover something new, and connect with your community 🌎💚

No green thumb required — just a willingness to grow 🌱
