Brady Hetke graduated from Bloomer High School in 2016 and enlisted in the Wisconsin Army National Guard in 2017. After completing basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Benning, Georgia, he became an infantryman assigned to Alpha Company, 1-128th Infantry Battalion, based in Menomonie, Wisconsin.
From July 2019 to August 2020, Hetke deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, serving as a machine gunner. Following his return, he attended the Basic Leader Course at Camp Shelby, Mississippi, in July 2021. He graduated in the top 20 percent of his class, earning a place on the Commandant’s List. He was subsequently promoted to Sergeant and served as his unit’s senior radio telephone operator. Hetke was honorably discharged in November 2023.
During his time in service, Hetke also attended the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. He graduated in May 2023 majoring in kinesiology, with an emphasis in teaching physical education.
During those years, Hetke and his wife, Anika, welcomed their daughter, Ava. Since his discharge, their family has grown to include two sons, Owen and Carter.
Today, Hetke teaches within the School District of Cadott Community.
