🥤 A Sweet Reward for Our Fundraising Stars! 🥤

Our students who participated in the Domino’s STP 🍕 fundraiser were treated to Sonic drinks! We are so proud of their hard work and appreciate their efforts to support our school.

Creativity and collaboration were on display in Mrs. Williams’ history classes! Using paper plates, straws, craft sticks, pipe cleaners, tape, and other simple materials, students worked together to bring their ideas to life through a hands-on project.

✍️ A change in perspective can change the way a story is told!

Students in Ms. Messer’s class explored the difference between first-person and third-person limited points of view while reading an excerpt from “An Invisible Thread”. They identified how an author uses pronouns, character thoughts, feelings, and selected details to develop a third-person narrative.

Students then cited textual evidence, answered comprehension questions, and rewrote part of the passage from a character’s first-person perspective. This close reading helped them see how point of view shapes a reader’s understanding of characters and events.

With every page they read and every perspective they explore, CFMS students continue building the skills they need for the road ahead. The marathon continues! ❤️🤍

💧 How do you consistently land the perfect bottle flip? Test it!

Students in Ms. Wilson’s PLTW class worked in teams to explore variables such as water level, hand placement, and height. They brainstormed ideas, conducted multiple trials, recorded their results, and used claim, evidence, and reasoning to explain which factors affected their success. A familiar challenge became a hands-on lesson in experimentation, data collection, teamwork, and critical thinking!

House spirit was on full display at CFMS last Wednesday during our House Assembly!

Students cheered on their houses, welcomed new Cardinals as they spun the wheel to discover their house, and learned more about the important role of house leaders. It was a great time to build connections, celebrate belonging, and strengthen our CFMS community!
