We are truly grateful for the continued love and support of this community and are so excited to once again be part of this year’s Memorial Day parade! Thank you for supporting our local Canaseraga Essential Club Free Library.
The 2026 Summer Reading Program will run throughout July and August and features this year’s theme, “Unearth A Story.” Join us at the library for exciting dinosaur- and archaeology-themed programs, activities, and special guest presenters for all ages. From children to grandparents, there is something for everyone — and all are welcome!
This year, we lovingly honor the memory of Kathie Sleight for her years of dedication, kindness, and lasting impact on our library and community. Her spirit and love for this community continue to inspire us all.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our community for supporting the school budget, which helps fund our library and its programs. A special thank you also goes out to our incredible volunteers and to STLS and Nunda Lumber for generously donating their time, talents, and materials to help bring this float to life.
And a special thank you to Dana Mehlenbacher for driving our float in today’s parade.

🦖📚 We Need Your Help Bringing This to Life! 📚🦖

We’re excited to bring back a parade float for the Canaseraga Essential Club Free Library for the Memorial Day Parade on May 25th — and this year’s theme is all about dinosaurs and reading!

✨ “Unearth A Story!” ✨

We’re creating a fun, kid-focused float with dinosaur cutouts, a reading scene, and a jungle-style library backdrop — and we’d love your help making it happen.

🛠️ We’re looking for help with:
• Materials (cardboard, paint, wood, decorations, etc.)
• Building & setup
• Painting dinosaurs, signs, and footprints
• Decorating the float
• Kids who want to ride in dinosaur costumes 🦖
• A LOT OF CANDY 🍬🍭 (we’ll be handing it out during the parade!)

👉 A full materials checklist is included in the image so you know exactly what’s needed.

“I can help!” or let us know what you’re able to bring or do.

This is such a fun way to support our library and community — we’d love to have you be part of it 💛
