Since it’s black fly season here in Maine, our donkeys have their new fly masks on for the summer. These masks help protect their eyes, faces, and ears from biting flies and make life a whole lot more comfortable. They may look a little funny, but the masks really do help keep the bugs from pestering them all day long!

Those sudden bursts of released energy usually happen when they’re feeling good, rested, and playful. It’s a natural behaviour and a great sign, showing a donkey feels safe, healthy, and comfortable enough to truly let loose.
