A message to the future is officially on its way 📬

Today, the Carmel Clay History Museum celebrated two milestones—the nation's upcoming 250th anniversary and the City's 50th anniversary—with the dedication of a time capsule that will remain sealed until 2076.

Among those marking the occasion was Phyllis Rockhill, 102, who has called Carmel home for 100 years, joining Mayor Sue Finkam to help commemorate this moment in our city's history. Future generations will one day open this capsule and discover the stories, memories, and hopes shared by Carmel residents in 2026.

A community is only as strong as the people who give their time to lift it up. We are lucky to have incredible volunteers who help to make this community the best that it can be ✨

Today, we’re spotlighting Nupur Saras. Whether she’s lending a hand at community events or helping connect residents, Nupur’s dedication is a perfect reminder of what makes our city so special.

In her own words:
"My favorite moments always involve the conversations I have while helping out. Getting to chat with long-time residents and fellow volunteers has given me a wonderful sense of belonging and a true appreciation for our neighborhood."

"For anyone thinking about volunteering with the City of Carmel, the best advice is simply to just take the first step and dive in. Whether you have lived here your whole life or are brand new to the area, volunteering is one of the most rewarding ways to plant roots and feel a true sense of belonging."

Thank you for your continued service to our community, Nupur!
