Today at 3:58pm, Oak Grove Fire responded mutual aid to assist Coweta Firefighters, IAFF Local 3483 with a residential structure fire. Crews arrived to find the home fully involved, with grass fires burning on both sides of the roadway.

Chief 1 assisted with extinguishing spot fires while OGFD Engine 1 assisted Coweta crews with fire attack and provided booster backup to Coweta Engine 1.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and no one was home at the time of the fire. The cause remains under investigation.

Yesterday, just before 4:30 PM, Oak Grove Fire responded with Inola Fire Department to a fully involved residential structure fire. The fire had extended from the home and sparked a grass fire that quickly spread through the yard and into the adjacent fields. With no nearby hydrant available, Inola Fire requested additional brush trucks and tankers from responding mutual-aid departments to help establish a water supply and manpower to control the fire.

Oak Grove responded with Tanker 1 and Brush 2, along with four personnel. Upon arrival, Tanker 1 established a water supply to Inola’s engine while the remaining Oak Grove firefighters worked alongside crews to extinguish the fire and complete overhaul operations. Unfortunately, the home was a total loss. Two civilians were transported by Pafford EMS for minor burn injuries.

Oak Grove Fire responded mutual aid to assist Inola Fire in a large fire incident.

Rogers County Emergency Management is on scene off Lock and Dam Road assisting Inola Fire District with a structure fire. The home is reported as a total loss.

• Rogers County Sheriff’s Office

Crews are still working the fire and the cause is under investigation. Please avoid the area so responders can work safely.

Our neighbors at Tulsa County have issued a Burn Ban 🚫🔥

Effective immediately, the Tulsa County Board of County Commissioners has declared a burn ban for all of Tulsa County.

While the burn ban is in effect, no outdoor burning or open flames are permitted. This ban will remain in effect until at least Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Rogers County Burn Ban Takes Effect Following Emergency Commissioners Meeting

CLAREMORE, OKLA. - The Rogers County Board of County Commissioners approved an emergency burn ban during a special meeting held on September 2, 2026, after determining that extreme fire danger conditions exist throughout the county.

The resolution was adopted based on severe drought conditions identified by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), minimal rainfall forecast over the next three days, and a significantly higher-than-normal number of fire incidents occurring across Rogers County and the region. The action was taken with the documented concurrence of a majority of local municipal and rural fire department chiefs.

Under the burn ban, it is unlawful to set fire to grass, brush, forests, crops, or other wildlands, as well as conduct outdoor burning activities such as campfires, bonfires, or burning trash and debris that could potentially start a wildfire.

The burn ban will remain in effect for up to 14 days, through September 15, 2026, unless lifted earlier by the Board of County Commissioners.

County officials urge all residents to use extreme caution with any outdoor activities that could create sparks or ignite dry vegetation. With ongoing drought conditions and elevated wildfire risk, public cooperation is essential to protect lives, property, and emergency responders.

Just before 2 PM today, Oak Grove Fire responded to a grass fire with assistance from Broken Arrow Fire Department.

Responding crews found approximately 1 acre burning, with the fire rekindling from a burn pit that had been extinguished earlier this morning. Afternoon winds and low humidity allowed the remaining embers to flare back up and spread.
Thankfully, crews quickly contained the fire.

Over the past two weeks, our crews have had the opportunity to train under real-life conditions alongside many of our surrounding agencies.
This type of hands-on, joint training is invaluable. It allows us to experience realistic scenarios, sharpen our skills, and just as importantly build stronger relationships with the agencies we work alongside when the call comes in.

Training like this helps ensure that when our community needs us most, we are prepared to work together, communicate effectively, and operate as one team.

A huge THANK YOU to all of the agencies, firefighters, and personnel who came out and put in the time to make ourselves and each other better. Your commitment to training directly translates into better service for the communities we serve. And a special shoutout to Wagoner County Emergency Management for being on standby and continuously refilling our SCBA cylinders, helping ensure there were no interruptions in training.

🐾 Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

We couldn’t let the day end without showing off a couple of the doggies of Oak Grove Fire Department!

These four-legged Firefighters of the OGFD family may not run calls or pull hose, but they sure know how to boost morale, supervise the crew, and make themselves at home around the station. 😂

Give your favorite pup some extra love today and maybe a few extra treats, too!

FOUND DOG:

We know the fire station is a safe place… but apparently word has gotten out! We’ve got another furry visitor who decided to stop by Oak Grove Fire Station 2!

This sweet girl wandered into the station and has made herself right at home. She is very friendly, very sweet, and apparently ready to add “firehouse dog” to her résumé.

She has no collar and no microchip, so we’re hoping someone recognizes this little girl and can help us get her back home.
