**VIKING NATION — SENIOR BANNERS & PICTURES**

Good morning, Viking Nation!

It has been brought to our attention that some parents may be using photographs taken by Vibrant Valley to create their own senior banners for display in the gym. I **strongly and unequivocally discourage this practice.**

We respect the time, talent, and intellectual property of our photography partners, and we expect our families to do the same. Using photographs without proper authorization is not something we support, and it does not reflect the standards we expect as a school community.

**Please understand that any custom signs or banners created by parents done in that manor will NOT be displayed in the gym.** Any such purchases or creations are made at the parents’ own discretion and are not sponsored, approved, or endorsed by Center School District. We will not display materials that use Vibrant Valley’s photography without proper authorization.

Now, on to the exciting part!

**SENIOR PICTURES — THURSDAY AT 2:00 PM!**

Seniors, YOU NEED TO COME PREPARED! That means getting with your coaches ahead of time to collect any and all uniforms, jerseys, equipment, and props you want included in your senior pictures. Do not wait until the last minute to get your gear together!

Our goal is to have the official senior banners hanging in the gym by **Saturday**, and we want to make sure our seniors are represented the right way!

Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and continued support of Center Athletics. We want to celebrate our seniors in a big way while doing things the right way.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out and I will be happy to address any concerns you might have.

Thank you,
Adam Sperandio
Athletic Director
Center School District

**Clear Eyes. Full Hearts. Can’t Lose!**

🏈💙 THE AD’S CORNER: SEASON 2 | HOMECOMING EDITION

7-0. UNDEFEATED. UNFINISHED.

What an incredible fall for our Vikings! Homecoming week capped off an already special season with memories we’ll never forget, and our football boys delivered a hard-fought victory over our rivals from County Line!

This one was personal. Our seniors experienced their first-ever Homecoming victory, and Coach Ziere Banner picked up his first career Homecoming win! Those are the moments that stick with you long after the uniforms are put away. I couldn’t be prouder of this group!

And Jaiden Martinez? 315 rushing yards, 6 offensive touchdowns, and an 80-yard pick-six for his 10th interception of the season! ABSOLUTE DAWG! 🔥

At 7-0, we’re the only undefeated football team in the San Luis Valley, and the Vikings are making noise among Colorado’s state leaders on both sides of the ball. But as Kobe Bryant famously said, “Job’s not finished.”

🏈 FOOTBALL: TWO HUGE GAMES LEFT!

* Friday, October 23: @ Sierra Grande, 7 PM
* Thursday, October 29: HOME vs. Hoehne, 7 PM. A potential Big 6 League Championship showdown with an automatic state playoff berth on the line!

👑 CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2026 HOMECOMING ROYALTY!

Freshmen: Treycin Lujan & Gisselle Enriquez
Sophomores: Isaac Dutton & Charli Martinez
Juniors: Josue Gurrola & Jaylen Enriquez
King & Queen: Yanixan Padilla & Anahlicia Villagomez-Juarez

Congratulations to all of our royalty for representing Center with Viking pride! 💙

🏐 LADY VIKINGS VOLLEYBALL: FIVE STRAIGHT!

After battling through a tough stretch, our Lady Vikings have caught fire at the perfect time, winning five straight to improve to 11-9! The girls are fighting for another regional appearance, and these final matches are huge!

📅 Mark your calendars:

* Thursday, October 29: vs. Ignacio
* Saturday, October 31: vs. Crested Butte

Let’s pack the gym, show these girls some love, and finish the regular season strong! Back-to-back regional appearances are the goal!

🏃 CROSS COUNTRY: RECORD-BREAKING SEASON!

Every single runner recorded a personal record this fall! That’s a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment these athletes have put in. Our Vikings head to Mancos for Regionals with state qualification spots on the line. Run hard and leave it all out there!

🏐 MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: FINISHING STRONG!

Skoglund hosted the SPL End-of-Season Tournament right here in Center, and our C-team battled through a competitive bracket to capture the consolation championship! Congratulations to our players, and a HUGE thank-you to Coaches Jacqueline Aguilar, Alicia Garcia, and Ale Maldonado, along with every volunteer and community member who helped make the tournament a success. It takes a village, and ours showed up!

🏀 WINTER SPORTS ARE COMING!

Middle school boys basketball begins Monday, October 19, with a mandatory parent meeting Tuesday, October 20, at 6:30 PM. Middle school girls basketball and wrestling will follow as we roll into winter sports season!

🛠️ SHOUT-OUT TO OUR MAINTENANCE & CUSTODIAL CREW!

A massive THANK-YOU to Chris Segura and our entire maintenance and custodial staff. From lined fields and prepared courts to clean gyms and facilities ready for competition, so much happens behind the scenes to make our athletic programs possible. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and we appreciate everything you do for our kids!

💙 WALKING IN GRATITUDE

Being the Athletic Director in this community is an honor I never take for granted. Of course, winning is fun. But the real reward is watching our kids grow, overcome adversity, build confidence, pick each other up, and become leaders.

That’s why we do this. That’s why relationships matter. And that’s why we’re committed to building our programs from the ground up.

I’m incredibly proud of our athletes, coaches, staff, families, and community. We’re building something special here in Center, and we’re just getting started!

CLEAR EYES. FULL HEARTS. CAN’T LOSE.

💙🖤🤍 LET’S GO, VIKINGS!
